We are proud to have contributed to the recent report produced by the Welfare Experiences project, a comparative, five-year project exploring experiences of social security of working-age people who are out-of-work across Estonia, Hungary, Norway, Spain, and the UK.
Led by co-production partners including APLE Collective in England, the research placed lived experience and co-created knowledge at its heart, ensuring that the realities, emotions and ideas of people directly affected by welfare systems shaped the findings.
The report calls for systems that are built on respect, dignity, empathy and trust, not punishment or surveillance. It offers a vital evidence base for policymakers, practitioners and campaigners seeking to reform welfare systems through partnership with those who know them best- the people who use them.
